BRAFA 2026
For the 2026 edition of BRAFA, Francis Maere Fine Arts presents a carefully curated selection of works that reflect the gallery’s long-standing commitment to dialogue between artistic generations.
At the heart of our presentation stands a focused tribute to Eugène Dodeigne, one of the most powerful sculptural voices of postwar Europe. The booth will feature a remarkable group of his iconic sculptures alongside a selection of oil paintings and drawings, offering a rare opportunity to experience the full breadth of Dodeigne’s artistic language. Through raw material, monumental presence and profound humanity, Dodeigne’s work continues to resonate with striking relevance today.
Placed in dialogue with this presentation is a carefully chosen selection of important works by leading figures of Belgian modernism, including Raoul De Keyser, Hippolyte Daeye, Constant Permeke and Victor Servranckx. Each of these artists represents a defining moment in the development of twentieth-century art in Belgium, from expressionist figuration to early abstraction.
In keeping with the gallery’s vision, this historical foundation is complemented by a selection of contemporary artists whose work continues to expand and reinterpret these artistic legacies. By bringing together different artistic movements and generations, the presentation reflects our belief that meaningful connections in art transcend time and style.
Through this dialogue, Francis Maere Fine Arts aims to highlight the enduring relevance of both modern and contemporary artistic practices while offering collectors a presentation that is both historically grounded and forward-looking.
